 Female Personal Trainer, Bristol BS16 & BS8

Hey, I'm Kim

Hi, I'm Bristol based personal trainer Kim Williams. I deliver personal training to you at home, online or at the following Bristol gyms: Snap Fitness Gym, Staple Hill, BS16, and Gym Set, Clifton, BS8.

Here's my story so far...

My fitness journey began from a very young age.  My parents & grandparents would take me swimming every week and as I got older, I began taking private swimming lessons.  Lessons lead me to a swimming club and then to regional and national competitions, for over 5 years.  Over the years, swimming taught me to be confident and gave me a sense of self belief, which helped me to deal with the bullying that I endured at school.

A Swimming Scholarship

I was offered a swimming scholarship with Plymouth Leander Swimming Team.  The head coach was part of Team GB and my dreams to compete at the olympics were coming true!  Unfortunately, my family couldn’t afford the fees and so I had to give up swimming.  I was heartbroken and completely lost.  Despite starting college and getting a job, the bullying hadn’t stopped either, so my self belief was replaced with doubt and anxiety.

A Gym Receptionist

I was a receptionist in a gym for just under 2 years.  I started working out once or twice a week and started making friends in classes.  I found such joy in every workout, so it wasn’t long before I was training 5 times per week and completely changed my diet to improve my performance.  Soon after, I moved to London to complete my Personal Training Qualification.  I just wanted to help others to feel strong and confident in their own skin, to find self worth and happiness through exercise, the same way that I did.

A Personal Trainer

I’ve worked with so many inspirational people over the last 4 years, helping them to overcome fears and improve their mental & physical health.  My own training is a mixture of weight lifting and cardiovascular fitness, as well as any classes I may teach in the gym!  Outside of the gym, I love walking, hiking, cooking and reading (mainly about the anatomy & nutrition).

A Bikini Athlete

One day, a colleague had asked me if I’d ever considered entering into a body building competition.  At first, I laughed and shook my head.  There was no way, someone like me, could get on stage in a bikini and look glamorous.  One year later, I had trained myself for a bikini competition and won 1st place.  My self confidence hit an all time high and I felt a sense of pride & empowerment.  So I entered a few more competitions which lead to 4 golds, 4 silvers, 1 overall female, 2 British Championships, 2 PRO cards and 1 international show in America.

Team GB Athlete

I stepped on stage in America, as part of Team GB.  Orange tan, sparkly bikini, heels and all.  I had finally lived my childhood dream.  Initially, I wanted to help people to find self happiness and confidence through exercise … but it’s become so much more than that.  My passion is to help others to achieve (what they may have once thought was) the ‘impossible’, to help them feel empowered, confident and in complete control.
